Myer, 78, of International Falls, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center - Duluth, under hospice care. Joan was born March 10, 1931 to Ole and Helena Paulson in Bemidji, MN. She grew up during the Great Depression Era in a small home with four sisters. Joan was united in marriage to Robert Myer on August 12, 1961. She taught elementary school for 40 years; retiring from teaching at Holler Elementary School in 1991. Joan loved music, dancing and choral singing. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and oldest sister, Geri. Joan is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Marc and sisters, Claudia Mewes, Judy Bluth and Bee Schultz. Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in International Falls. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
